New Voice Mail System Effective February 1, 2010

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO OUR VOICE MAIL USERS:

Amherst Telephone has a new voice mail system.  Please review these new instructions to get your greeting set up on the new voice mail system.  You will have one week from Monday, February 1, 2010 to complete the setup of your new voice mail box.  On Tuesday, February 9, 2010 your new voice mail system will be activated.

You will still have one week from the above date to retrieve your old voice mails off the old system.  Any new messages will be delivered into your new voice mail box.

New Access Code

When accessing your mailbox with a touch tone phone and calling from your home telephone you can dial the NEW access code (*99) or you may dial the NEW telephone number 715-824-6246.  Note: When calling from outside Amherst's calling area you will need to dial the NEW telephone number (715-824-6246).

New Voice Mail Set-Up 

Note:  This step takes about TWO minutes to complete.

When setting up your mail box for the 1st time, Dial the voice mail access code *99 and a tutorial will guide you through the complete set-up.  Follow these three steps:

Step One:  Create your PIN:  4-20 numbers long.  (EX:  223344)

Step Two:  Record your mailbox name.  Just say your name.  (ie:  Jon Doe)

Step three:  Record a mailbox greeting.  (Ex:  Hello, I am currently unable to answer the telephone.  Please leave me a message and I will return your call.  [Note:  In this step, you have a choice of using a system generated announcement.]) 

How do I know if someone has left me a message? 

An interrupted (STUTTER) dial tone signals that a message is waiting for you.  Dial the voice mail access code *99 to access your mailbox - the number of messages you have will be announced to you and by dialing the digit 1, the first message will be played.
