Setup Email in Outlook

  1. This "How-To" may differ some for different versions of Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Open Outlook and choose "Tools -> Email Accounts".
  3. A new window should have opened asking you what you wish to do. Select "Add a new e-mail account" and click "Next".
  4. On this next screen choose "POP3" for the server type.
  5. The next screen should look similar to the one below:

  6. In the area denoted by "1" enter your name. This is the name that your e-mail recipients will see.
  7. In the area denoted by "2" enter your e-mail address.
  8. In the area denoted by "3" enter your username. This box should be filled in automatically for you. This is also the first part of your e-mail address. ie) This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.Do not put your e-mail address here.
  9. In the area dentoed by "4" enter your password, and make sure that the "Remember Password" checkbox is checked.
  10. In the area dentoed by "5" and "6" enter for both boxes.
  11. After you have finished filling in all of the boxes, click on "Test Account Settings". A new window will pop up and run some tests. Everything should come back with green check marks next to them. If they don't call (715) 592-4007 for help.
  12. Now click the "Next" button and then click "Finish".
  13. You should now be able to send and receive e-mail messages.

Setup Email in Windows Mail

  1. In Windows Mail, go to the Tools menu and click on Accounts... 

  2. Click on the Add button in the upper right.

  3. In the Select Account Type window, double-click on E-mail Account.  

  4. In the Your Name window, type in the name you want your recipients to see when they receive your e-mails, then click on Next.

  5. In the Internet E-mail Address window, type in your e-mail address, then click on Next.  

  6. In the Set up e-mail servers window, enter the e-mail server information as shown below. 

  7. In the Internet Mail Logon window, enter your Internet ID and password for your e-mail account (you don't need to enter the password, but if you do, you will automatically log on to the e-mail server every time you open Windows Mail as long as the check is in the box next to Remember Password).

  8. You should see the following screen; click Finish.

Setup Email in Outlook Express

  1. In Outlook Express click on "Tools" on the main toolbar at the top of the screen. Then choose "Accounts". 

  2. In the new window click on "Add" and then choose "Mail". 

  3. In the new window that pops up you will enter your display name. This is the name that your recipients will normally see. The display name can be anything you want it to be. Once you are finished, click "Next". 

  4. On the next screen you will be asked for your E-mail address. Your address will be "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." where "..." is your user name. Click "Next". 

  5. On the next screen you will be asked about server information. If you are setting up your "" e-mail just copy exactly what is on the screen below. Otherwise consult your e-mail provider for their information. Click "Next". 

  6. On the next screen you will be asked about your account name and password. The "Account name" should be filled in automatically. If it is not, then enter the first part of your e-mail address before the "@" symbol. Enter your account password in the "Password" field. Make sure "Remember password" is checked, unless you want to enter your password every time you send or receive e-mail. Click "Next". 

  7. Congratulations, click "Finish". 

Setup a Wired/Wireless Router to Work With DSL

**Save this page, or print it out before going through these steps**

  1. Plug the cable coming from our/your ADSL modem into the WAN/Internet port of your router.
  2. Connect your PC/Laptop directly to your router.

  3. Open up a browser on your computer and go to the IP address specified in the router documentation ie) 

  4. A new window will prompt for a User name and Password. Leave the User name field blank then enter your routers password ("admin" is the default password), then click OK. 

  5. When the routers web-based setup page appears, look for Local IP Address and change it to Leave the Internet Connection Type as Automatic Configuration - DHCP. 

  6. In your router it is recommended to setup your DNS information statically with your primary DNS server being and your secondary DNS server as
  7. Save the information in your router and reboot it if needed. 
  8. Renew the computers IP address by doing the following:

    - Click on Start and then Run 

    - Type "cmd" in the Open field and click OK.

    - When the MS DOS Prompt appears, type ipconfig/release then press [Enter]. 

    - Once the IP address becomes, type ipconfig/renew then press [Enter]. 

  9. - The Default Gateway should now read
  10. You should now be able to connect to the Internet.
  11. If you are not able to get on the internet, try unplugging the power to our/your modem, router, and shutdown your computer. Then power on the modem, then router, and then computer, waiting 15 seconds in between each.

Reboot Your DSL Modem

* please make sure to avoid hitting the Reset button on the back of the modem, as that will erase the modem’s configuration.

  1. Find the DSL modem. It should look similar to this:

  2. Unplug the modems power and wait for about 15 seconds. 

  3. Plug it back in. 

  4. Wait another 45-60 seconds for the modem to run through its startup and you should be reconnected.
  5. Your DSL modem should now look like this:
